Today's entry...hmmm, this blog stuff is DEMANDING! And this is only my second entry! So, promised a coincidence to see if you can top it...here is my first one: I am at a business event with my husband at a country club in Athens, Greece, and sitting across the table is a woman who looked so familiar to me...I leaned across the table and asked her if we had met before, and after some back and forth, we realized we had gone to high school together!

And another...so, I met my current husband 30 years ago in Germany...he had been in the service and was going to school there to get an MBA...we dated, married, lived in several countries and states, and at some point, came to D.C. to visit, and he announced he wanted to go see an old Army buddy who lived out in the country around D.C. So, we go out to visit this pal and his family, and I am walking up the sidewalk, his wife comes out, and damned if she wasn't another high school pal who in fact lived around the corner from me growing up and whom I met at the school bus stop every day! She had gone to Germany after graduation, and met her hubby over there...and her hubby was my hubby-to-be's Army pal...are you still with me?

I have a million of these stories (well, quite a few), and I SWEAR they are all true...could I make this stuff up?

Is it living in the DC area?

So, here is how I got started...walking to the Metro this morning, I found a pearl bracelet lying on the brick sidewalk. A lucky find? A fortuitous start to a regular day? A sign of good things (or bad) to come? Well, not really...an amazing coincidence, actually, when you consider that about 25 years ago, I found another pearl bracelet, very much like the one from this morning, lying forlornly in a wet gutter outside a theater in London. It so happens I was walking into the opening night production of Phantom of the Opera, and there was the bracelet. REAL pearls, mind you (unlike this morning's find), and as if that wasnt enough, Princess Diana (whom I idolized and favored in looks in my younger days, so I had been told) would be in attendance as well. In fact, she sat across the aisle from us, in that dress with the flared bottom...and the two long gloves, one black and one red or pink (hey, it was in the 80s!). Didn't really like the show (Sarah Brightman seemed to be straining to fit into the role, but she was married to Andrew Lloyd Webber at the time)...but had to go back 3 more times that week regardless to entertain business clients of my husband's.

So what will be the theme of this blog? Happenings, coincidences, observances just too good, too juicy to keep to myself... sometimes you just gotta sing!

Next time: I will tell you one of my great life coincidences and you can tell me yours...let's see who can top whom!
